following be subiti tuted :— (i) 'that in clause (1) of article 193 for the „'olds occurring after the words `(1-iief Justice if In !la' to the end oe the clays. the following be substituted :— aud such of the judges of the Supreme Court and of the High Court of the State concerned as the President may deem necessary for the purpose and shall hold office until he attains the age of sixty years [...] Secondly the object of making it difficult for the Legislatures to remove Judges cou'd be achieved by providing that the final order would be passed by the President himself but it should at any rate be comPetent for the State Legislature to present an address through the Governor to the President for the removal of any of the Judges of the High Court. [...] His amendment says that in appointing a Judge of a High Court in the States the President shall consult the Chief Justice of India and such of the other Judges of the Supreme Court and of the High Court of the State concerned as the President may deem necessary for the purpose and shall hold office until he attains the age of sixty.
