On the basis of the Government of India's recent estimate as disclosed in the budget speech of the Hon'ble Finance Member of the Goverment of India the allotment from this source is now expected to be only 21 lakhs in the current year and 20 lakhs in the budget year. [...] The question of consolidaing the two schemes into a comprehensive whole is engaging the Government's attention at the moment as also the matter of dovetaiing the rural uplift activities into the existing activities of the benficent.departments so as to secure the utmost advantage and the prevention of waste in any direction. [...] (2) The Minister for the time being of the United Provinces Government in charge of Development and the Secretary for the time being to the Government of the United Provinces in the Industries Department shall be ?x officio members the Board. [...] 4.—The Board shall in addition to the powers and duties conferred or imposed upon it by the provisions of the Act advise the Provincial Government on all matters connected with the sugar industry of the the province that may be referred to it by the Provincial Government. [...] under (b) above (d) the additional production of sugar is in the opinion of the Board not likely to affect adversely the interests of the sugar industry : Provided that condition (d) shall be waived in the case of the construction of a building at a new site for the re-installation of the machinery of a factory already existing in the province after removal from its present site.
