[...] Shri Sheo Mangal Singh (absent) :What steps if any were taken to fulfil the promise (made by the Government to implement the recommendations of the Nehru Committee about the output of research work by the Agriculture Department) and what has been the practical result of such steps? [...] The Hon'ble the Minister of Justice : The Committee made the folloing recommendations in connexion with research work : (i) that a Research Council be formed for the execution of rsearch programmes and for the control of the various sectional heads;. [...] Shri Harish Chandra Bajpal : Are the Government aware of the fact that the employees of the Newal Kishore Printing Press Lucknow are on strike and the proprietor of the press has declared a lock-out for an indefinite period? [...] The conditions are (1) that the retrenched workers should be given wages for the period of inquiry or one month's wages whichever is less (2) 6 representatives of the retrenched workers should be allowed to go to the press and (3) the Labour Commissioner will in the meantime undertake an inquiry regarding the necessity of retrench ment as proposed by the proprietor.
