[...] THE HONOURABLE SIR MANECKJI DADABHOY : I only hope for the good of this country that the Muslims of India will have the courage and coviction to set aside also the purdah system because that will be a great avantage and will lead to the development of the country and the glory of their community. [...] They were exasperated by the fact that the debate was artificially closed and they were gagged because the reformers were so anxious to thrust their reforms down the throats of the people that they did not even have the courtesy of giving a hearing to those who wanted to put the other side of the question before the Assembly.
