Hon'ble the Secretary of State for India :— That 'the University of Calcutta have received with the deepest sorrow the sad news of the demise of His late Majesty King George V Emperor of India and they desire to express their profound sense of the loss which they in common with all the people of India have sustained thereby. [...] S. were appointed representatives of the University in their places tOattend the Centenary of the Foundation of the University of London. [...] At the instance of the Vice-Chancellor and Syndicate the Government of Bengal agreed to allot one of the seats held by the five Members of the Senate of the Calcutta University on the Zoological Garden Committee to a member of the Teaching staff of the Post-Graduate Deparment in Zoology when a vacancy would arise. [...] The undermentioned gentlemen were appointed representatives of the University on the Conference with Goyernment to consider the question of the form and style of the Vernaculars in papers other than Bengali at. [...] Besides conferment of Doctorate degrees the University recognises merits of research work by the award of medals prizes and scholarships in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Endowments created for the purpose.
