(aa) The provisions relating to the employment of young persons shall apply to ships registered in British India and to foreign ships in the manner prescribed in the said provisions.” 3. [...] New section 37E provides for the maintenance of a register of young persons employed on a ship _ or a list of them in the Articles of Agreement in accordance with the provisions of Article 4 of the draft Convention fixing the minimum age for the admission of children to employment at sea and Article 5 of the draft Convention fixing the minimum age for the admission of young persons to employment [...] Clauses 7 and 8.—The amendments to sections 85 and 91 of the Indian Merchant Shipping Act 1923 are designed to give effect to the requirements of Articles 16 and 17 of the Recommendation concerning the general principles for the inspection of the conditions of work of seamen entitling the master and the crew to call for inspection in respect of certain matters. [...] With the approval of the Government of India the Bengal Goverment did not propose the continuance of those provisions of the local Act of 1925 which conferred certain powers of arrest and detention and with the lapse of those powers sections 4 5 and 6 of the Supplementary Act of 1925 ceased to be in force.
