The depth of the boat shall he measured vertically from the underside of the garboard strake to the top of the deck at the side amidships and the freeboard shall be measured from the top of the deck at the side amidships to the water-level when the boat is loaded. [...] Cubic capacity of open boats of Class 1.—(1) In the case of an open boat of Class 1 the cubic capacity shall be determined by the following formula :— t (4A+2B+4C) 12 / denotes the length of the boat in feet from inside of the planking or plating at the stem to the corresponding point at the stern post ; in the case of a boat with a square stern the length is measured to the inside of the traso [...] Length: From the intersection of the outside of the planking with the stem to the corresponding point at the stern post or in the case of a square sterned boat to the after side of the transom. [...] Deck area and capacity of pontoon boats and of open boats of Class S.—In the ease of Rontoon boats and - of open boats of Class 2 the surface in square feet shall be determined by the following formula : — Area (2a+ 1 56-F4e +1 5d+2e) 12 1 denotes the length in feet from the intesection of the outside of the planking with the stem to the corresponding point at the stern post.
