1311PP.-22nd March 1948.—In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1) of setion 92 of the Government of India Act 1935 the Governor is pleased to direct that the Foreigners (Amendment) Act 1947 (XXXVIII of 1947) shall apply to the Darjeeling district from the date of publication of this notification in the Calcutta Ga:ctte. [...] S. has given the award as shown in the annexure hereto; Now therefore in exercise of the powers confered by sub-section (2) of section 15 read with susection (3) of section 19 of the Industrial Disputes Act 1947 (XIV of 1947) the Governor is pleased to make the following order and to direct with rference to section 17 of the said Act that the award be published in the Calcutta Gazett [...] (b) Date of payment of the monthly salary.—As to the date of payment of the monthly salary the Union claims that the Company should be directed to make the payment not later than the 3rd day of the month following the month for which the salary is due. [...] In view of the statutory provision as to the date of payment of the salary I do not consider it desirable to fix definitely any other day of the month for the pament of the salary. [...] (5) Salary for the purpose of calculating gratuity shall mean the substantive salary of an employee on the date the employee ceases to be in the employment of the Company.
