5.—In exercise of the powers conferred-by action 35 of t Central Excises and Salt Act 1944 (I of 1944) the Central Government is pleased to confer on the Deputy Collector of Central Excisp Karachi the appellate powers of a Collector for the purposes of Rule 213 of the Central Excise Rules 1944 with effect on and from the 1st April 1953. [...] 6.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (aa) of clause (ii) of rule 2 of the Central Excise Rules 1944 the Central Board of Revenue is pleased to confer on the Deputy Collector of Central Excise Karachi all the powers of a Collector under the said Rules with effect on and from the 1st April 1953. [...] 13.—In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 188 of the Sea Customs Act 1878 (VIII of 1878) read with Section 9 of the Land Customs Act 1924 (XIX of 1924) the Central Government directs that appeals against the orders of an officer of Land Customs in the Federal Area Sind and Bahawalpur State shall lie to the Collector of Land Customs for the said areas. [...] 14.—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (1) Of Section 3 of the Land Customs Act 1924 (XIX of 1924) the Central Government appoints :- (1) the Deputy Collector of Central Excise Karachi to be the Collector of Land Customs for the areas in the Federal Area and Sind adjoining the land frontiers of the foreign territory of India ;"418 THE GAZE1.1E OF PAKISTAN EXTRA. [...] 16.—In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (b) of Section 8 of the Land Customs Act 1924 (XIX of 1924) the Central Board of Revenue appoints the hours between sunrise and sunset as the hours between which goods may be passed and delivered at the land customs stations within the jurisdiction of the Collector of Land Customs for the Federal Area Sind and Bahawalpur State.
