II/49.—In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 of the Pakistan Coinage Act (III of 1906) the Central Government is pleased to direct that coins of the denominations of a Rupee Half Rupee Quarter Rupee Two Anna One Anna Half Anna and Single Pice to be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government shall conform to the following specifications that is to s [...] Around the lower half of the periphery each coin shall be inscribed with a half-wreath of stylised laurel leaves surmounted by two small stars and the whole design shall be surrounded by a circle of small beads. [...] Such coins shall bear on the centre of the reverse face a mongram in Urdu script comprising the words HUKUMAT-PAKISTAN and the date of the year of issue in English figures. [...] Around the upper periphery of the coins shall be inscribed in English the words GOVERNMENT OF PAKISTAN and around the lower periphery the coins shall bear a halwreath of stylised laurel leaves surmounted by two small stars of size equal to the similar half-wreaths on the obverse faces of the coins. [...] (4) The reverse face of such coin shall bear a crescent moon and five pointed star with the denomination ONE PICE in Urdu and in English script together with the date of the year of issue in English figures.
