APRIL 28 1953 4. Compulsory rinsurance under section 26.—(1) Subject to the prvisions of sub-section (i) of section 26 every insurer operating in Pakistan shall re-insure with the Corporation such proportion of the sums assured on all the policies issued or renewed by him in Pakistan as may from time to time be fixed by notification in the official Gazette by the Central Government. Verification of accounts etc.—(1) For the purpose of satisfying itself that the provisions of the Act have been duly complied with or of verifying the correctness of the claims arising under the policies rinsured under sub-section (1) of section 26 the Corporation may as often as it may consider advisable call for or examine or cause to be examined any accounts books documents memoran [...] 6. Recovery of unpaid premium under section 29.—(1) If at any time there is reason to believe that an insurer has failed to re-insure with the Corporation up to the full amount required by the Act the Corporation shall refer the matter for enquiry to the person authorised in this behalf (hereinafter referred to as the officer ") BY THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT under section 29. [...] (2) The Officer shall thereupon cause a notice to be served upon the insurer stating briefly the allegation made against him and requiring him to appear before the officer on a date and at a time and place specified in the notice and produce all relevant evidence in the possession of the insurer relating to the allegation. [...] (7) At any time after the expiry of the period mentioned in surule (5) or if an appeal has been preferred after the decision of the Central Government thereon the Corporation may proceed to recover the amount found to be payable by an insurer under section 29 and enforce the charge on the insurer's property in respect thereof if on being called upon to pay the amount the insurer refuses or
