WHEN the Corporation took up the question about the retention of the staff in connection with the overhauling of the High Duty "A" Engine at the Tallah Pumping Station and the payment of allowances to Mr. [...] The matter was then put to the vote and carried as follows :- (1) That the retention of the following staff in connection with the overhauling of ' the High Duty "A" Engine at the Tallah Pumping Station and the payment of the allowance of Rs. [...] The Ward Health Associations were inaugurated with the hope of getting non-official help and in co-opertion with the officials and Councillors of the Coporation to rouse the sanitary consciousness -of the rate-payers of the city. [...] Accordingly the Law Officer was referred to and his opinion was that before the Seller can claim the added duty or the Purchaser can claim a deduction on account of decrease in duty it has to be shown that the increased or decreased duty has in fact been paid in respect of the goods which form the subject matter of the contract." In con action with the supplof "Pipes and fittings" and "Hardw [...] In the face of the above figures the so-called grievance disappears and even the unbiassed mind cannot fail to find the scowling and sinister apparition of parochialism behind the whole agitation.
