PAGE PART 1.—Notifications by the Chief Commissioner of Mysore and Coorg.—Notifications by the Government of India. [...] M. Muttanna Probationer will remain in charge of the Office of Assistant Conservator of Forests in Coorg during the absence of Mr. [...] 3042 dated 17th October 1879 in clause 4 paragraph 2 of which it was prescribed that the daily balance sheet of treasuries should be signed by the Treasury Officer on the evening of the day itself to which it refers. [...] 297 dated 23rd Feruary 1880 and enclosures representing that it will be inconvenient to carry out the order as the treasury must either be closed earlier than usual at the sacrifice of public convenience or the Treasury Officer detained at office long after office hours in order that the balance sheet may be signed and verified on the evening of the day to which the transactions refer ; [...] The Treasurer and the Accountant should however take care that their accounts agree before the office is closed for the night ; and the Treasury Officer should satisfy himself before the work of the next day begins that this agreement has been effected.
