It is bounded on the north by the British District ofAjmer-Ifirwira and the Shapira chiefehip ; on the north-east by Jaipur and Bfindi ; on the east by Kotah the Nimbahera pargana of Tonk and certain States of Central India; to the south are several States belonging either to Central India or the Bombay Presidency as well as the Jhillod subdivision of the British District of Pinch Halals; while [...] It is bounded on the north by Ajmer-Merwära and the Shithpura soundsriss chiefship; on the west by Jodhpur and Sirohi ; on the south-west by Idar; on the south by Dengarpur Bauman' and Partabgarh; on the east by Sindhia's district of Nimach the Nimbahera district of Tonic and Bundi and Kota; and on the north-east near the cantonment of. Deoli by Jaipur. [...] The great watershed of India dividing the drainage of the Bay of Bengal from that of the Gulf of Cambay runs almost through the centre of Mewar and may be described by a line drawn from Kimach to 17daipur and thence round the sources of the Baas bthe elevated plateau ct Goganda and the old hill-fort of Kambh garb up the6 UMW= IMAM Arkvalli range to Ajmer. [...] Further to the south the hills decrease in height but out over the south-western portion of Ifewar extending to e valley of the Sem rib ar on the Dfingarpur border and of the Mahi river on the Binswara border and having a breadth of about sixty miles. [...] River The principal rivers are the Chambal its tributary the Blink; arta= the less important ones are the Bench the Kothkri and the BMA (all affluents ofthe Banks) the Withal in the south-west; and the Som and the Jakam in the south.
