[...] The mirth drains northward chiefly along the Amba or Nagothna river ; the centre drains west 'along the Knndalika or Rohn river and south-west along the ISandtid river ; the south drains into the west-flowing Sitvitra 'nest of it south along thevalleys of the Ghod in the west the Nisampur-Kal in the centre and the Risagad-Kal in the east; and the eeereme south dreine north along the sipper Savi [...] In the north of Pen between the Nagothna river in the west and the Patalganga in the east is a lowlyiiig salt swamp full of winding slimy tidal creeks into which about five miles from the meuth of the Pataigatiga the Bleisaa drains after r course of about sixteen miles across the norh-east of Pen. [...] To the north are the rich palm groves and orchards of Chaul and the 'ruined POrtuguese fortifications and churches of Revdanda and to the south on a high headland running half across the mouth of the creek the picturesque fort offKorlan During its passage across the district the 'Kendalika receives only two considerable streams. [...] About ton miles below the meeting of the Ktimthi and the Savitri is the Raygad-KM which rising in the hilts to the north of Raygad -fort flows south-east and south for about sixteen mike between the Raygad range and the Saliyadris and then turning live miles io the west falls into the Stivitri about four miles.
