There are two small presses the Mahtab Press used for the publication of the District Gazette and for the printing of forms notices etc„ and the Darul Musannafin Shibli Manzil Press which publishes the Moarif Magazine and other works written by members of the Shibli Mauzil ""ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS. [...] latter became a Musalman under the name of Daulat and rose to a high position as a eunuch of the court in the personal service of the Emperor Jahangir. [...] Johnathan Duncan the Resident at Benares appointed Sheo Lal as his successor and for a considerable period he acted as collector of the revenue in thq four sarkars held by the Raja of Benares He afterwards obtained the title of Raja for his services in puting flown the rising of Saltanat Singh and in November 1797 received% sanad from the Governor-General conferring on him the title of the [...] For many yeprs owing to the opposition of the exproprietors and bad management on the part of the Rajas their hold on many of the villages in Azamkarh was very weak and for some years a number of them was leased to Mr. [...] But in 1810 the farmer's authority could only be maitained by the stationing of a detachment of sepoys on the estate ; and under the orders of the Governor General the old proprietors were debarred from recovering their proprietary right on account of their misconduct.
