To mention only a few Of his activities he is honorary non-official Secretary of the Aman Sabha member of the Advisory Board of the Court of Wards member of the District Board and the Agricultural Advisory Committee and a director of the district Co-operative Bank He has also established an Anin-O-Arran bank at Sahjanwa. [...] The old soil classification was based on the maps of the last settlement which had been carfully prepared by officers of the Survey of India and showed not only the natural characteristics of the different soils but also their artificial classification. [...] The rise is moderate in view of the increased' letting value of land and of the price of agricultural produce The latter is especially marked in this district owing to the improved marketing facilities caused by the very great improvement in communications. [...] As the greater part of the city lies below the high flood level of the Rapti it is impossible to evolve any comprehensive scheme of drainage but a large number of pits have been filled up and some improvement has been effected in the sanitation. [...] The only parks within municipal limits are the Victoria Memorial Garden attached to the Town Hall and the Ismail Park to the west of Sahibganj.
