It includes within its boundaries the small French settlement of K6raikk61 which lies near the middle of the first of the above two sections of the coast about half way between the mouth of the Coleroon and Point Calimere. [...] The capital of the district is the municipality of Tanjore and the head-quarters of the various taluks are at the towns from which these areas are named.
