The portion of the old district prtected forests banded over to the Forest department was added to the old Naini Tal sub-division thus forming the present division consisting of two classes of forest (1) the old reserves divided into three ranges and worked chiefly for the Naini Tal settlement and (2) the new reserves comprising blocks of the old district protected forests reserved in 1911-15 s [...] This same year 1921 was the most disastrous in the history of the Kumaun forests as nearly three-fourth of the total area of the division was severely damaged by incendiary fires started by the ignorant local population under the influence of political agtators of the non-co-operation movement. [...] In this year the supervision of the sale d6p6ts in the station was also transferred to the charge of the municipality. [...] The Dogari range is 58 155 acres in area of which 29 751 acres are in Naini Tal and the rest in Almora district the foot of the hills being the district boundary for the most part. [...] Substitute the following for the present notes :— The canals in Kashipur pargana are under the control of the Executive Engineer and the Canal Act of 1873 is in force.
