Again in August 1925 as the result of excessive rain the heaviest floods known for years in the district washed away a number of villages on the banks of rivers and caused the failure of crops in many villages in the normal kachhar areas of Sadar and Mahrajganj tahsils. [...] The activities of these bodies developed along the same lines as in other parts of the Province starting with the boycott of foreign cloth and :liquor and picketing of foreign cloth and liquor shops and the cutting of toddy trees. [...] More recently the activities of these boards have been directed to the education of the public in the principles of the New Constitution and the methods by which it can best be worked.
