[...] Variations of the Seasons.—If we take the seasons from the point of view of the combined influence of yield and value of crops the nature and distribution of rainfall and the rresence or otherwise of disturbing factors we can give marks to each by natural divisions on the margirtallnoted scale which fairly comprehensive. [...] The increase in the number of outsiders in the City is mostly due to the opening of the Railway workshops and the textile mills attracting foreign born labour. [...] The least urban area is the Trans-Sabarmati where only 9 per cent of the population is found in the two towns contained in it But the Baroda towns are not generally of large size-only 40 per cent of the urban population being found in towns with a population of 20 000 and over The accompanying map illustrates by suitable rectangles the extent of urbanisation in the different Natural areas. [...] Calculating by the Longstaff method we set out the volume of migration in the City in the -different detades; in the latest decade the number of immigrants was four times as large as in 1891901 and twice as large as in the decade previous to the present census.
