Memoirs of the Geological Survey of India. Volume XLIX Part 2. The Former Glaciation of the East Lidar Valley Kashmir

1928

In Plate 38 the eastern end of this.leature is seen to artculate with the southern flank of the ridge and cliffs running up to the point just south of the Gulol Gali and is obviously associated with a delivery from the south-east and south. [...] As will be noted later in describing the southwest section the horizon of the picture not only passes through the upper crest of this massive lateral but is also close to a distinct ledge of differentiation in the live rock on the other side of the lake to the S. and S. W. a point of great interest. [...] The disposal of these moraines is such as to preclude the posibility of their being rock dumps caused by any snow slideso.from the N. and N. W. The delivery on the western edge of this shoulder is over a steep cliff which sweeps in a curved counter-clock way more or less N. W. The face of the cliff is not glaciated ; it is of the corrie type. [...] The ledge bifurcates and one limb passes at a small rising gradient to the east and finally runs into the top of the trough in the bottom of the V-shaped exit to Zamtir Nar Valley (Section 12 above). [...] This area is that of the main valley of the East Lidar from the exit of the lakelet just west of point 11 730 to a N.-S.
