Speaker: The House will now proceed with the further consideration of the Bill to amend and codify certain branches of the Hindu Law, as reported by the Select Committee. [...] If the speeches made in this House are any indication of the recep- tion that the Code is going to have in the country, even an optimist and ardent supporter of the Code like the hon. [...] from different parts of the country, belonging to certain different sects or Shri Syamnandan Sahaya: Now, it certain sections of the Hindu corn- we scrutinise the provisions of the munity, have explained how they fee] law carefully, we will find that there about the application of the provisions are really some tremendous difficulties of this Code to them. [...] But if it is the law courts they may be belonging to the Hindu then I have no doubt, and the House community: so that it will be found and the hon. [...] I know !lately yesterday the House was of families, not one but many, where plunged into a mood which detracted the power of attorney by the wife is very much from the seriousness of the not held by the husband but by some measure that is before us.
