Shri Sidhva: (a) Will the Minister of Communications be pleas- ed to state the number of Wireless Stations under the control of the Ministry? [...] On examining the Interim report of the Committee, the Government of India found that the schemes recommended therein involv- ed heavy expenditure and that it would not be possible for the Government of India to assist the State Governments in their implementation. [...] Shri Sidhva: What is the total expenditure of the scheme': Shri K. M. Munshi: According to the Committee's recommendations, the Central Government should give loans to the extent of Rs. [...] Field embankment work has been done in the ceded districts of Madras and the Forest Department of the State is tackling the problem of wind erosion in the coastal areas by afforestation.
