Issux- Chandra Gupta, Poet and the Edityr of the Probhakar in the issue of the paper on the 14th February 1858 observed "since the foundation of the Oriental Seminary by an Indian gen- tleman of no ordinary ability it is sending forth every year young men well-educated and fit to enter the world. [...] 7. In the begining of the Fifties of the last century, the then news-paper announced that the boys of the different Schools and Colleges had attempted to display their histrionic accomplishments; they performed several of Shakespeare's Eldriys in place-iot *Ercitation and in this they drew admiration of the cultured public—both Indian and European. [...] The Hundred and Twentith Session, 1948 With the close of the year 1948 The Oriental Seminary completed the Hundred and Twentieth year of the long end eventful caweer. [...] Out of the 50 boys sent up, 6 passed in the 1st division, 5 in the 2nd division and 2 1 in the 3rd division and of the unsuccessful candidates 9 passed in the next Supplementary Matrioulation Examination, the total number of the successful candidates thus being 41 out of 50. [...] Fee rates of pupils were indreased in all classes in both the Departments of the Seminary from the begining of the year l94R, and the salaries of the staff further increased in order to give effect to the said recommendations of the University as far as lto;sihl c.
