Issur Chandra Gupta, Poet and the Editor of the Probhakar in the issue of the paper on the 1-ith February 1E53 observed "since the founda tion of the Oriental Seminary by an Indian gentle- man of no ordinary ability it is sending forth every year young men well-educated and fit to enter the world. [...] On the death of the founder, the entire manage- ment of the Seminary devolved upon his brother, the late Babu Hurray Kristo Auddy, who devoted all his time in the interest of the institution, which conti- nued to maintain its proud position as one of the most -respectable and independent schools in Bengal. [...] The roll strength in the Girls' department was 689 in March and 723 in December 1950. ( 31 ) Matriculation Results :—Due to the sudden and unexpected stiffening of the standard of the Marti- culation Examination by the Calcutta University the results of the examination in the year under review were not as satisfactory as they were expected to be. [...] Out of the 77 boys sent up from the Boys' department 3 passed in the First Division, 2 in the Second Division and 27 in the Third Division and 1 in the Third Division in the Special Matriculation examination. [...] on the significance of the function and the duties of all citizens, specially of the students under the hey, constitution.
