But the year closed with a shadow of Gloom for the future, unprecedented in the annals of the Seminary since the days of the Sepoy Mutiny. [...] Her sweet and encouraging words appealed to all the girls and the ladies, and the mothers and sisters of the pupils present on the occasion. [...] Babu Radhikalal Mukherjee, senior member of the Committee kindly joined in the function and encouraged the boys by presiding over the Saraswat Sammillan held in the evening. [...] (iv) On the auspicious day of the Birth of Lord Sree Krishna the Seminary Harisabha met in the school hall and the Januaasthaini Ceremony was cele- brated.
