The experiment was continued as in the previous year with slight modification, a no manure series being introduced During the year under report the byre pit with soil " method again gave the largest quantity of manure and this was taken as the standard and applied at 10 tons per acre. [...] As in the previous year the manure from the other systems of storage were applied on this basis in proportion to the quantity produced. [...] The details of the yields obtained by the application of manure conserved under the four systems are given in Table VIII. [...] The figures shown in Table IX are the results of the residual effects of the plots in which the manure was applied in the previous year. "12 TABLE VIII. [...] There was also very little difference in the yields obtained in the other plots, The introduction of the `no manure' series restricts the number of times each series can be repeated and it is in no way concerned with the object of the experiment.
