[...] The most important modification made in the list was the omission of the whole of Part VI which dealt with the subject of Vocational re-training of the Unemployed ". In view of the ramifications of the subject it was decided to request the Conference to call on the L82DofL"8 Bulletins of Indian Industries and Labour. [...] The Employers' representative raised objections both in the Committee and the Conference to the suggestions which were included by a majority of the Committee in the list of points that provision might be made in the Convention for the abolition of penal sanctions for the cost of repatriation being borne by the employer and for annual holidays even though in regard to the second of these an add [...] ; and (b) to enter on the agenda of the Conference the question of the Reduction of Hours of Work in Transport as soon as it shall have received the results of the work of the preparatory technical trpartite meetings. [...] The Conference adopted the list of points submitted by the Committee by 79 votes to 26 and also decided to place the question of the Reduction of Hours of Work in Industry„ Commerce and Offices on the agenda of the 1939 Coference.
