For if that view were correct the authority of a High Court decision would rest not on the fact of its being the view of a co-ordinate FIttperior or an appellate or revisional Court but on the reporters stamp it receives in the pages of the law reports. [...] The absurdity of this position was pointed out in Council at the passing of the Act and because this was ignored by the Indian Legislature the Crown had to exercise its power of veto to save the authority of the High Court decisions from the freak of reporters. [...] But that of Lord Lindley and the Court of Appeal rests OD the meaning of the word "author." Naturally in the decision of the House of Lords brain takes a back seat whereas in the decision of the Court of Appeal it takes deservedly a more prominent place. [...] THE LOID CHANCELLOR at the outset if his judgment said :---"I should very much regrtit if I were compelled to-conic to the conclusion that the state of the law permitted one man to make profit out of and to appropriate to himself' the labour skill and capital of another." The only ground on which the judgment of the Court of Appeal was. [...] For the reasons given in the judgment the Appeal Court reversed the decision of the Court below but gave leave to appeal to the House of Lords.
