WE PUBLISH BELOW A REPRESENTATION FROM THE Burma Bar to the General Council of the English Bar for their co-operation on the question of the appointment of CiVilians by the Government of India to fill up the Chief Judgeships in the Chief Courts in this country and the action taken by the Bar Council in the matter. [...] The above letter having been referred by the Council to the Executive Committee for consideration that Committee reported thereon as follows :— The office of Chief Judge of the new Chief Court of Lower Burma has since the date of the above letter been filled up by the appointment of a Member of the Indian Civil Service.
