His Lordship the Chief Justice who sat in the Court of Criminal Sessions especially for this case after attaching due weight to the appeal for mercy which hail been made to him by the counsel for the sentenced the prisoner to a term of six years rigorous imprisonment in the Presidency Jail and we believe the sentence has been received by the public as quite adequate to meet the ends of justice. [...] This method of working out the governing principles of the sections by reference to the intention of the legislature and decided cases brings the work above the level of ordinary casnoted editions. [...] One special feature of the work is that the needs of the Revenue Official in whose hand no small portion of the work of administering the provisions of the Act rests have throughout been kept in view. [...] The maginal notes all along the annotation and a good index evidently the work of the editor enhances the usefulness of the work. [...] (e) did apply to the present suits and that both the Munsif and the Sub-J udgo were wrong in their view of law on the point but he dismissed the appeals on the ground that the Plentiff not having appealed against the Munsif's decision on the question of jurisdiction and the value for purposes of juridiction in such cases being the sane.
