The constitution of the Benches and the distribution of business amongst them will be as follows from Monday the 6th of March :- PRESIDENCY GROUP AND THE PRIVY COUNCIL DEPARTMENT The Chief Justice and Mr. [...] His Lordship following the principle in Draper v. Crofts holds that in order to make the estate liable the Plaintiff must prove clearly and conclusively that after the expiry of the old lease a new contract was made between the Plaintiff and all the co-tenants including the co-tenant since deceased making themselves jointly and severally liable to perform the conditions of the tenancy. [...] The object of the present Article is to present to the reader a critical summary of the Criminal cases of the last year and an examination of the important earlier rulings bearing upon the points that arose in the recent cases. [...] Held in Haji v. Nur at p. 643 by Jenkins C. J. and Batchelor J. that an appeal from a decision of a single Judge of the High Court dated the 13th August 1903 was not out of time although presented on the 7th September 1903 the decree having been drawn up on the 31st August and the appellant having applied for a copy of the judgment on the 22nd August and received it on the 28th August. [...] The first Court dismissed the Plaintiffs' suit The lower Appellate Court however reversed the decision of the first Court and granted a perpetual injunction and ordered the removal of the pucca ghat.
