Although we are glad that the leaders of the Bar and the other gentlemen by the withdrawal of the proceedings against them by the Government of Eastern Bengal and Assam at the suggestion of the Hon'ble the Chief Justice have DIFFICULTY OF A CO SHARER LANDLORD TO RECOVER RENT FROM A RAIYAT. [...] The second appeal arose out of a suit instituted by the Thakor of Kolda-Sangani Kathiawar State) in the Court of the Assistant Political Agent Haler Prant against the State of Gondal a State of the first class to redeem and recover possession of a village said to have been transferred by way of mortgage to the latter State by the former. [...] Following the same course and upon a review of the history of the relation between the Govtrnment and the Kathiawar States since the beginning of the last century his Lordship came to the.ponclusion that "large as has been the forms of intervention by the British Indian powers in the affairs of Kathiawar and large as has been the political cotrol exercised over the province any assertion of te [...] As regards the question of the Judicial Adminitration of the States and the position of the Courts of the Assistant Political Agent the Political Agent and the Governor in Council of Bombay his Lord ship observed that " under the arrangement santioned by the Court of Directors in 1834 authority was given to the Political Commissioner to try persons guilty of capital crimes committed in S [...] The Plaintiffs who had obtained a zurpeshgi of a portion of an occupancy holding brought a suit to set aside a rent decree obtained by the landlord against the tenant of the holding the ground of the suit being that the decree was collusive and in fraud of the Plaintiffs' rights.
