Like all IndiaGs.of culture and edcation he always took a lively interest in the wefare of his country and was an active uimpporter of the Congress movement while he was at the Bar He was elected President of the Indian Nations Congress in 1887 and since then he remained staunch in the Congress cause. [...] But the severe and continued strain on his helath and nerves caused by the examinations of the Calcutta University on a variety of subjects varying from the Entrance Standard to that of the Premchand Roychand Prize had ill-fitted him for another mighty struggle at Cambridge. [...] Bose was blessed with not merely the brilliant qualities of the mind but also with the richer virtues of the soul which lifted his thoughts to the Almighty a Id moved his heart for his fellow-beings and fellow-countrymen. [...] Bose's ability and eloquence in the defence of a case which the Standing Counsel had to prosecute before the High Court in the 'Calcutta Criminal Sessions that speaking later on at the Annual Trades Dinner he described Mr. [...] Bose's rare qualities both of the heart and the mind could not possibly concentrate all his thoughts and confine all his activities in the practice of the profession of law We regret that we can but indicate here the many sided activity of his career.
