They occupy the highest position in the tank of legal practitioners and the legilature having regard to the high traditions of the Bar in' England has left them out of the scope of the Legal Practitioners Act. [...] In this oase their Lordships held that when the father of a Mitakshara family morgages the ancestral property and there is no evidence of legal necessity for the mortgage and the sons also cannot prove that the debt was contracted for immoral purposes the motgagee can get the usual mortgage-decree against the father in respect of his share in the property but as against the sons the mortgagee [...] In reviewing the figures for 1903 and 1904 our contemporary attempted to trace the cause of the increase in crime which showed a steady advance since the year 1899 to such causes as the Boer War industrial and commercial depression social distress and expressed the hope that the improvement in the economic conditions which had set in before 1906 might be attended with an improvement in the s [...] Dacoity—Evidence The only evidence to connect the accused with the offence of dacoity lay in the fact that about six months after the date of the dacoity certain ornments (which were of common description) which were proved to have been carried away in the dacoity were found in the house of ore accused and some ornaments were found in an empty house adjoining the house of another accused held [...] The judgments were devoted in a great measure to a consideration of the prerogative under which the Crown was entitled to peculiar remedies against the debtor and his property and of the law and the authorities bearing upon it.
