The detention of the British ilierchant vessel Labuan by the U. S. Goveinient during the American Civil War to prvent the disclosure of important military iformation and subsequent indemnification for the detention is an earlier case of the exercise of the right of angary. [...] Further we may mention that the Calcutta Weekly Notes is to be found not only in the libraries of all the law Courts in India but also in the library of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.
