The Advocate-General said :—After the sympathetic words of your Lordship the Chief Justice of Bengal it is my priviltge speaking on behalf of the Bar to assure your Lordships of the heartfelt concurrence of every member of the legal' profession with the sent rents which you have so felicitously expeessed regarding the terrible event which has so unexpectedly over-shadowed the Empire The Bar o [...] clxxxi the Fifth King of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas Defender of the Faith and Eperor of India and the Declaration made by His Majesty subsequent to the' Proclamation were read by the Deputy Shetiff of C4lcutra on the steps of the Town Hall Calcutta at 5 p.m. [...] on Thursday the 12th of May 191o in the presence of the Hon'ble the Chief Justice the Judges of the High Court at Fort William in Bengal and the public. [...] An endorsement on a promissory note was to the effect that the payee acknowledged the receipt of a certain sum and in consideration thereof empowered the assignee to recover the amount of the note held that the assignee was entitled to sue on the note. [...] Complaint against the accused who were the lessees of a ferry across the river Ganges in the District of Purnea by the lessee of a ferry under Government on the ground that the former had been plying the first-mentioned ferry within a distance of two miles from the limits of the Government ferry which was a public ferry and had thereby contravened the provisions of sec.
