WITH REG xRD TO THE APPOINTMENT OF Goernment pleaders in the Mofussil the practice has always been for the Magistrate and the District Judge to nominate the best available man from the local Bar and for the Local Goernment to 'accept such nomination unless the Government for some special reason deems it fit to supersede such nomination by the appoinment of a nominee of its own. [...] We may in this connection make special mention of his masterly analysis of the opinions of the Hindu jurists and the caslaw which have created a divergence in the law in this respect in the different parts of the Indian Continent. [...] But where the divergence can be satisfactorily accounted for by reference to the later de\ t'opments of the law of succession the author is ready to do so by reference to the doctrines of the different schools of Hindu law. [...] Sir Gooroodas Banerjee's book brings all this composite evolution of the law to a focus by projecting on them X11 the available light from the classical texts and commentaries and the luminous decsions of the Indian High Courts and the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council. [...] As regards Najoo Bibi it was ordered that the decree of the lower Court be set aside and the said Appellant dc recover the money due to him by sale of 4 annas share of the properties mentioned in the schedule to the plaint.
