Hoever in view of the observations of their Lordships of the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council it is to be hoped that both the executive and the judiciary in India will now co-operate in putting down this scandal and will always -discourage the common police method of avoiding the trouble of securing satisfactory evidence by the adoption of the short and swift course of supporting the pr [...] The dat - of the Yajna seems to be the latter half of the 2nd century A. D. The Srmilti does not disclose any pressure from the Mlechchhas and the absence of such presure in the la „t quarter of the 2nd century resembles very much the legal conditicm seen in the Mr;ichchhakatika. [...] The conviction was based on the evidence of the Government handwriting expert who was examined to prove that the documents in question were in the handwriting of the accused and on certain other evidence which was relied on in car roboration of the evidence of the expert. [...] With regard to tLe question of privilege which the Petitioners submitted was the most important point of the case in this Petition the learned Judges were of opinion that the privilege which would otherwise have attached to the publication by reason of the general interest of the Parsi Comunity in the questions discussed in the said article was lost by publication in a newspappr which circulat [...] On the question of damages the learned Judges of the Appeal Court disagreed with the finding of the Court of first instance and awarded to the Repondent the sum of Rs.
