It seems to be forgotton that it is an offence against the Common Law of England to which appeals are even made to deny any $tatus of the Jew—to libel any set of class of men if the libel is of such a character as to excite the hatred of the people against all belonging to the sect or class and to conduce to breaches of the peace. [...] They might take the world of fiction thermight take the works of dramatists they might take even some of the more distorted versions of the better known pages of history and they would find throughout an extraordinary failure to appreciate the most elemetary facts in the contribution which the legal prfession had made to the history of the world and the advancement of civilisation. [...] There were none who responded with more immediate impulse of gallantry and selsacrifice to the colours than did the briliant youth of both branches of the legal profession and the very contrast between the arts of the law and the profession of the soldier illustrated the reality and the extent of the contribution which was made by the lawyers to the great war. [...] the 20th December 1.913 reversing a judgment and decree of the Subordinate Judge of Ferozpur dated the 18th September 1909 The appeal' was heard ex parte by the Lords of the Judicial Committee and the Board delvered judgment on the 29th January 1918. [...] All the remaining Respondents have filed affdavits swearing that they did not know of the admission of the appeal nor of the preparation of the record nor of the despatch of the printed record to England.
