The office of the Chief Presidency Magistrate hats for long been filled by members of the Bar and we „see no reason why the Goernment of BerlaVhould not have got a meber of the Calcutta Bar to fill the office. [...] The decision of the Court of Appeal in Enland condemning thedeportation of the Irish leader O'Brien as illegal has been folloWed by the introduction in the House of Commons of an Indemnity Bill barring all legal claims for compensation by deportees.
