He and his prgressive colleagues have the come to the conclusion that for the oriental people to attain the status position and eminence of a self-governing nation—ar sharp line of demarction must be drawn'between the affairs of the Government or the State which are chiefly secular and those of religion which relate to the spiritual ideals of man individually or collectively and have litt [...] The Magistrate found that the land was in the possession of the accused and the crops were grownby them. [...] A few days after the acquittal of these persons the coplainant filed another petition of complaint against the Petitioners and others not named on the same facts befoie another Magistrate omitting the names of the two persons who had been acquitted but mentioning the fact that a complaint against two of the accused in the case had been tried and the trial ended in an acquittal. [...] Their.Lorships we regret to point out have entirely ovelooked a very important aspect of the 'case and omitted to notice that the Magistrate before whom the second complaint was laid had no jurisdiction at all to deal with the matter and it is all the more reglettable because the point is raised by the learned Sessions Judge in the concluding part of his letter of reference. [...] Instead of leaving it to the Hon'ble Judges to request a member of the profession to argue the case as amicus curice the Crown should 'prvide for counsel in all such cases in the High Court at the suggestion of the Hon'Dle Judge before whom the case is pending.
