The Annual Vacation of the Calcutta High Court Will commence this year on the 26th of August and the Court will re-open on the 7th of November. [...] The effect of a certain provision in the Code was that the breaking-up of the window of a house and the.dashing to pieces of a China cup within a house and the riding over a field of grain in hunting were all classed with the crime of arson and Were thus punishable with 'death. [...] It was contended that those persons could not be the reversionary heirs of the husband of the original Appellant : Held—That the substituted Appellants were not the reversionary heirs and the appeathad abated. [...] The complainant moved the High Court and obtained a Rule on the ground that the Public; Prosecutor has no right to withdraw the case in the appellate stage. [...] 494 clearly contemplates a case of withdrawal in the Court of first instance and the order of the Sessions Judge allowing withdrawal of the case in the appellate stage was wholly without jurisdiction.
