On the elevation of Sir Malcolm Halley to the Governorship of the Punjab he was appointed Home Member to the Government of India and became the loader of the Legislative Assembly. [...] The proposed amendment of the provsion of the High Courts Charter Act of 1861 as embodied in the Government of Idia Act which is at present in force for the appointment of the Chief Justice and the Judges of the High Courts in India has justly raised universal protest throughout India. [...] According to the Police the accused was in the house of the Petitioner at the time and the Petitioner falsely said that the accused had gone away to bring the fees. [...] Special importance attached to the case on.account of the fact that the Petitioner in the case is a memben of the legal profesion. [...] The Defendants preferred this second apeal : Held—That as both the Plaintiff and the Defendant claimed the land under the same landlord the question of title was in conflict between the parties and so an appeal lay to the District Judge from the decision of the Munsif under the provisions of sec.
