At the present time the suspension from duty of a police officer or the convening of a disciplinary board—the equivalent of a court-martial— is given wide publicity whereas until recently such matters were never reported; and the result has been to convey the impression that there has lately been an unusual number of cages of misconduct on the part of the police. [...] In the course of the judgment their Lordships have been pleased to speak of " decree against the widow or other act in the law in the widow's life-time depriving th;-! reversionary heir of the right to possesion en the widow's death." The difficulty is as very rightly observed in your esteemed editorial note as to what is meant by the epression " other act in law."
