When the Indian legislature becomes autonomous and the government responsible to the legislature the questions that would go up before the Judicial Committee would be between - the Federal Government and the Indian States and the Provinces and in such questions their Lordships could be abslutely free from local prejudice or local bias. [...] The Idian States have yet to develop constittional forms of Government and also approved judicial system in their States and we are not prepared in a hurry to give their representatives in the Federal Executive any voice in the 'selection of the judges of the Supreme Court in India. [...] If the present rules in respect of Privy Coucil Appeals in Civil and Criminal cases be made applicable to the Supreme Court it would be difficult to imagine what should be the strength of such a Court to cope with the business that may come before it from the whole of India. [...] Where the succession to a religious office (Sajjadanashin or Mutwali) was admittedly dependent on election by a body of persons and a person brought a suit claiming to have been so elected and he died during the pedency of an appeal preferred by him: Held (BROADWAY and TAPP JJ.)—That the disciple of the deceased was not the legal representative of the Appellant who could be substituted in the [...] 181 (2) such offences are to be tried by the Court within the jurisdiction of which the offence is committed; the Court at the place where the accused ought to have acounted for the money has also no jurisdition.
