The tranfer of the security had been an inoperative' one because of non-registration and the learned Chief Justice held that the result was the transfer of the debt failed also. [...] For example the Calcutta High Court decided that once a complaint against an Advocate has been brought to the notice of the Bar Council it is immaterial whether the coplainant pursues the matter further or does not : the Bar Council as the custodian of the dignity of the profession as also of the rputation of individual members has always to investigate the matter and either vindcate t [...] held further—That the representatives of deceased share-holders were only liable to the extent of the assets of the deceased in the hand of the representatives. [...] If a loan is taken by the karta of a joint family for the purposes of the family the members of the family whoever they may be are bound to pay the loan to the extent of the joint family property. [...] Even if the loan is not proved to have been taken for the purpose of the joint family or if the loan was avanced without making proper enquiries as to the necessity of the family the son is still liable to pay the debt provided that it is not tainted with immorality.
