The rule restricting admission to the Courroom of the Hon'ble the Chief Justice to members of the legal profession in robes is causing considerable inconvenience to Advocates having business in that Court. [...] Anyone looing at this progress-noted list will know at once how the business of the day stands; and if the list be kept hanging from the wall instead of in the sergeant's hands the latter would be spared the strain of continuous verbal enquiries as it would he easier for the clerks to obtain the information they wanted. [...] The present honour comes as a belated recogntion of his services on the Bench rather than to the two terms of his temporary icumbency as a member of the Executive Council of the Governor of Bengal during the absence of Sir Provash Mitter on deptation as a member of the Round Table Coference.
