We have in our issue of 11th January last set out the scope of the State Prisoners Regulations (III of 1818 of Begal II of 1819 of Madras and XXV of 1827) as limited by the Resolution of the Governor-General in Council of the 19th September 1921 which was promulgated by a Gazette Extraordinary for the informtion and guidance of all the Local Goverments and Administrations So the corn [...] The Captain of the vessel is responsible for the maintenance of the discipline amongst the crew and the passengers on board according to the laws and regulations of his country. [...] Sen Gupta had not committed any offence on board the vessel or abroad and was arrested on board the Italian vessel even under the permission of the Captain or the Consul the propriety of such arrest may be questioned by intenational jurists on the territorial basis of the vessel. [...] The real object of the Free State in repudiaing the jurisdiction of the Judicial Comittee of the Privy Council is to have such difference as may arise between her and Great Britain referred to the Permanent Court of International Justice. [...] Court a declartion that the debts of an insolvent father governed by the Mitakshara are binding upon the sons to the extent of their shares in the joint family property The Insovency Court also possesses the consequential power of directing the sale of the son's share in the property.
